Here are 8 Potential Regions for Central Java Industrial Park Development
Central Java government has been showing their improvements on developing industrial park at Java. Not only their commitment to create better public services for the establishment of more Central Java industrial park, but also their willingness to develop more infrastructure in the province. These efforts have been done by the government on promoting their potential regions for the establishment of new Central Java industrial estate. Based on Local Regulation Number 10 Year 2017, there are 8 potential regions for the development of Central Java industrial estate. Here are those areas:
- Kedungsapur region, including industry development in Semarang (capital city of Central Java), Kendal, Demak, Ungaran, Salatiga, and Purwodadi. Three cities in this region (Semarang, Kendal, and Demak) has even appointed by Indonesia government to be priority areas to be developed during 2015-2023.
- Wanarakuti region, including industry development in Juwana, Jepara, Kudus, and Pati.
- Subosukowonosraten region, including industry development in Surakarta, Boyolali, Sukoharjo, Karangayar, Wonogiri, Sragen, and Klaten.
- Bergasmalang region, including industry development in Brebes, Tegal, Slawi, and Pemalang.
- Petanglong region, including industry development in Pekalongan (city), Batang, and Pekalongan (regent).
- Barlingmascakeb region, including industry development in Banjarnegara, Purbalingga, Banyumas, Cilacap, and
- Purwomanggung region, including industry development in Purworejo, Wonosobo, Temanggung, Magelang (city), and Magelang (regent).
- Banglor region, including industry development in Rembang and Blora.
With these massive developments, Central Java government also starts to build more infrastructure such as highways, roads, and ports to support the new industrial park at Java. There are at least almost 3.000 hectares area for highways in Central Java cities and regents. It soon to be added another 261,3 hectares area for the development of Demak-Semarang toll road. Central Java government also keeps promoting one Central Java industrial park which has been established. It is located in Kendal and appointed to be Indonesia special economic zone in 2019. It is named Kendal Industrial Park, a home for more than 62 companies coming from 8 different countries: Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hongkong, and Malaysia (soon to be added). The majority investments come from foreign, yet another 48 percent are domestic investments. These company’s industries are varied: furniture, textile, fashion, food and beverages, pharmaceutical, medical equipment, electronics, optics, and metals (source: Jakarta Post). With all these approaches, Central Java governor, Ganjar Pranowo believed that the economic growth in his region will improve up to 7 percent by 2023. He is sure that more investors will come to develop their industries on the potential regions because of the commitment of his government to keep improving the services, infrastructures, and human resources.
